The Decemberists
What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World is the seventh studio album from The Decemberists, released in early 2015—featuring songs Make You Better and The Wrong Year.

The Decemberists describe the new album as the band’s “most varied and dynamic work, both musically and emotionally.” Frontman Colin Meloy says much of the album explores far more personal, introspective topics than previous Decemberists records as “having a family, having kids, having this career, getting older — all of these things have made me look more inward.”

The Decemberists 2011 album The King is Dead produced a Grammy nomination forDown by the Water in the Best Rock Song category.

Spoon
“Spoon have spent the past two decades proving that minimalism doesn’t need to mean thinking small. Throughout their eight albums, the Austin band has stuck with a bedrock sound built on chugging guitar, crisp hooks and frontman Britt Daniel’s wryly incisive vocals.” Jon Dolan, Rolling Stone

Spoon’s eighth album is an immediate grabber on par with the group’s best work to date. It’s also the first time Spoon have worked extensively with big-name producers who’ve helped create a rich, luminous sound for their songs. Take a listen to Do Youand Inside Out off the They Want My Soul album released in 2014.

Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Monday, May 25, 2015. General Admission and Reserved seating available. Low-profile chairs and blankets are allowed in the General Admission seating area.

Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters will hit the road in support of their latest lullaby and….The Ceaseless Roar. Each ticket will include a copy of the group’s latest album.* With a career spanning more than 40 years and possessing a powerful wide vocal range, Robert Plant is regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of popular music. In 2011, readers of Rolling Stone placed Plant in first place of the magazine’s list of the best lead singers of all time. Robert Plant is best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Led Zeppelin and a successful solo career.

“It’s really a celebratory record, powerful, gritty, African, Trance meets Zep,” Plant says. “The whole impetus of my life as a singer has to be driven by a good brotherhood. I am very lucky to work with The Sensational Space Shifters. They come from exciting areas of contemporary music…I have been around awhile and I ask myself, do I have anything to say? Is there a song still inside me? In my heart? I see life and what’s happening to me. Along the trail there are expectations, disappointments, happiness, questions and strong relationships,” Plant explains, “… and now I’m able to express my feelings through melody, power and trance; together in a kaleidoscope of sound, color, and friendship.”

*Every ticket purchased online or at the Ticket Mill for Robert Plant, will receive a CD of his new album lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar. Ticket purchasers will receive instructions via email on how to redeem their album within 10-14 business days after your order. Ticket buyers will be emailed a link and code to redeem the download and enter their shipping address for the CD.

General Admission and Reserved seating available. Low-profile chairs and blankets are allowed in the General Admission seating area.

The Doobie Brothers roots-based, harmony-laden, guitar-driven style includes their No. 1 singles Black Water (1974) andWhat a Fool Believes (1979) Jesus Is Just All Right,Rockin’ Down the Highway, Long Train RunninChina Grove, Take Me In Your Arms, Minute by Minute and many more great hits over the years.

In 2011, the band began a new chapter of their career when they filmed a CMT Crossroads special with country superstar Luke Bryan, and appeared for the first time ever on the Grand Ole Opry. That story continues with the release of their new albumSouthbound (2014) and their appearance on the 2014 CMA awards, where they performed Listen To the Music and Takin it to the Streets with long-time band member, Michael McDonald.

“Southbound mixes the reverence of a tribute album with the back-and-forth collaboration of a duets record, as the Doobies share vocals and trade instrumental duties on 12 new recordings of their own hits. “Country has changed since the days of Hank Williams,” Johnston tells Rolling Stone Country. “It’s taken on a rock tinge.”

Pat Simmons Jr. is a multi-instrumentalist from Maui, whose music is a teapot of activism and simple teachings; invoking Aloha spirit, awareness and peace. Pat uses his music to express his messages about living in balance with the environment and creating peace and love in this life. Pat plays many different musical instruments, including Djembe, Didgeridoo, wooden and steel flute, but mostly plays guitar, and the very first instrument he learned to play, the Ukuele. He has had the unique experience of growing up on tour with his father’s band The Doobie Brothers.

General Admission only. Chairs and blankets are allowed at this concert.

Death Cab For Cutie has announced details of its new studio album. Entitled Kintsugi, the band’s eighth LP (and first since 2011’s Codes and Keys) will arrive in late March 2015.

The album’s title references a “Japanese style of art where they take fractured, broken ceramics and put them back together with very obvious, real gold,” explains DCFC bassist Nick Harmer. “It’s making the repair of an object a visual part of its history.” If you’re wondering, yes, all this is a reference to the recent departure of founding member and producer Chris Walla.

Adds frontman Ben Gibbard, “This is an opportunity for the band to become something it could only become by losing a founding member. It’s our goal to make records that rank amongst the best work we’ve ever done. I completely respect and understand why people love Transatlanticism or We Have the Facts… or Narrow Stairs. And I would hope that as we move forward, people listen with as little prejudice as they can and try to hear the music for what it is and not what they want it to be.”

Built To Spill are gearing up to release their eighth studio album this spring. Warner Bros. confirm to Stereogum that the new album will be titled Untethered Moon, and it will be out in April 2015. This is the band’s first album since 2009’s There Is No Enemy.
