BEND ALE TRAIL . ENJOY RESPONSIBLY
Bend is a microbrew-lovers' dream. Since Deschutes Brewery was founded in 1988, seven more breweries have opened in Central Oregon, with a couple more rumored to be opening soon. Beer and Bend are so intertwined that there's a new activity in town called the Bend AleTrail. Stop by and see our Experience Concierge for a map to guide you on a journey through Bend's seven breweries plus one in Sisters.
Bend Brewing Company. Bend's second-oldest brewery and brewpub sits on the Deschutes River downtown and offers outdoor seating in the summertime. Brewer Tonya Cornett was the first woman to win Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year at the World Beer Cup a few years' back. The beers here are little delicious platforms for her talent. Brewery tours by appointment. Open daily for lunch and dinner. (541) 383-1599,

Boneyard Beer Co. Bend's newest brewery operates out of an old warehouse tucked away in a little neighborhood near downtown. Their facility only offers tastings and beer sales—no food. Still, Boneyard has already nurtured a growing reputation for themselves as purveyors of great beer. (541) 323-2325,

Cascade Lakes Brewery. This popular lodge-like restaurant serves Cascade Lakes' range of microbrews, which include cleverly-named gems like Bombshell Blonde. A full bar and outdoor seating complement this establishment. (541) 388-4998,

Deschutes Brewery. The granddaddy of Bend breweries distributes today all over the country, but the magic still happens here at the brewery on Bend's Westside. Tours are offered Monday through Sunday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and will leave you wiser and more appreciative of beer—especially after you've tried the free samples. There is also a tasting room here, open seven days a week from noon to 5 p.m. The Public House and restaurant is located downtown and serves up all of Deschutes beers as well as lots of food. McMenamins Old St. Francis School. The McMenamin brothers strike again with this converted Catholic School in downtown Bend. The brewery is in the basement and sports some fun and funky murals on the walls and tanks; beer is served all over the property from several locations. Beers on tap vary by season, but there's always something great flowing. (541) 382-5174,

Silver Moon Brewing. Award-winning signature beers and seasonal specials are served at this brewpub and restaurant, also a popular spot for live music and entertainment. The décor here is eclectic, the vibe laid back and old school—play a game of pool or kick back in mismatched chairs and hang out as long as you like. Ten-person tours of the brewery are available by appointment, and end with a half-hour tasting of a seven-beer flight. (541) 388-8331,
