The Sky Is The Limit
Bend Oregon Horseback Riding

Special Note: Brasada Trails and our Private Instruction is now closed and will reopen in spring. If you plan to visit us before spring, we are happy to provide transportation to Fly Spur Ranch in Tumalo Falls where our horses spend the winter.

The horses wait, ready, decked out in the finest saddles and tack, standing restlessly outside the immaculate barn. They already know how incredible this is going to be. The only question is, which way shall we ride today?

We could strike out into the Oregon Badlands, which stretch to the south for as far as the eye can see. We could head north, on an easy trot through green pasture. Or we could take the true challenge, up the rimrock-studded hills that climb the backside of Powell Butte to the east, where our skills will be surely challenged and at the top, we’ll be treated to stunning views of Brasada Ranch, the high desert and the snow-topped peaks of the Cascade Range.

Or maybe today, we simply want to take a leisurely sunset ride to Brasada Ranch’s exceptional restaurant Range, to dismount a few feet from the patio just in time for a delicious meal with an incredible view. With a cocktail in one hand, we’ll wave goodbye to Kevin with the other, as he leads our horses back to the stable.

No matter what sort of Central Oregon trail ride you choose at Brasada Trails, you won’t feel like just a passenger. Kevin expects his guests to ride his horses like they’ve been doing it their whole lives. If that isn’t the case, he’ll teach you everything you need to know before you set out. Kevin prides himself on teaching folks what horses are really all about. He insists on offering the alternative to what he calls the “nose to tail string”—the classic resort-style horseback riding tour, which progresses on a predictable, limited loop.

After all, The Equestrian Center is set on over 900 acres within Brasada Ranch Resort and has access to thousands of acres more on adjoining lands.

It would be a shame not to let loose on all of those soft trails. Which is exactly what we do, every day.

Happy Trails!
