The forested McKenzie River is a postcard-perfect Oregon stream. Born high in the Cascade Mountains, its crystal clear waters wind through narrow gorges and over stunning waterfalls before settling down to a swift and rocky mountain river. The rapids are numerous but small, creating an active and splashy, but relatively easy, rafting adventure.
Half-day trips are offered in the mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays and in the afternoons every other day of the week. From our launch site at Paradise Campground, we enjoy swift and rocky but easy rapids for 2.5 to 3 hours before reaching our take-out between McKenzie Bridge and Blue River. Lunch is not provided, but snacks and sodas are available during the shuttle.
Includes round-trip transportation from Bend or Sisters, snacks and beverages, and paddle jackets and pants on cooler days.
The first hour and a half is fast-paced but easy rafting journey ending at McKenzie Bridge where we enjoy a delicious riverside lunch. From here we float another three hours to Blue River, during which the river delivers a few larger rapids but generally relaxes its pace, allowing plenty of time to take in the stunning scenery.
Includes round-trip transportation from Bend or Sisters, deli buffet lunch, and paddle jackets and pants on cooler days.
